Cougar Automation Sign Exclusive Agreement with SilverNet

Cougar Automation today signed an exclusive agreement with wireless network company SilverNet to integrate their products for Industrial Wireless Broadband Networks.

Commenting on SilverNet's wireless network equipment, Cougar Automation's Sales Director said "When I first saw this I thought it was too good to be true: industrial, long-range, high speed, Ethernet, plug-and-play. Surely not! But after a demonstration I was gob-smacked. And the best thing is you just plug the Ethernet cable into the SilverNet box and it works."

SilverNet's products allow the creation of seamless high speed wireless network using open standards (Ethernet); with speeds up to 54 Mbps; point-to-point and point-to-multipoint networks; and genuinely plug-and-play technology.

Ideal for networking industrial control systems and SCADA systems, you can have a high speed network connection at virtually any location. But as well as allowing access to difficult locations, a solution using SilverNet technology is often much cheaper than a cable network. So, instead of installing ducts and cables, Cougar Automation can simply install a secure high-speed wireless network. This means faster project installation and often lower cost.

Also, with ranges possible of over 10 kilometres with line of sight, Silvernet's products are idea for telemetry applications. Imagine having a 54 Mbps Ethernet connection to your telemetry outstations!

The exclusive agreement between Cougar Automation and SilverNet covers the application of SilverNet's Industrial Wireless Broadband procucts for the Utilities, Manufacturing and Process industries.
