Angela Smith 5th October 2017 Challenging ourselves to keep having fun! Share via:Who needs Robin Hood? We have our own highly targeted Maid Marion, Cristina (Cheshire). At Cougar Automation, we’re focused on ensuring our customers are happy with the service they receive. We know that to do that effectively, we also need to ensure that everyone who is part of the Cougar team is happy with their working environment and passionate about the work they do. That’s why this year, at our annual Company Day held in September, we changed things up to ensure it included equal measures of fun, fanfare and, of course, food! Saving the day…again! No problem diffusing an unexploded bomb…we do that regularly at Cougar. L-R, Alan (Hants), John (Yorks), Mark (Hants), Mark (Yorks), and Ashleigh (Kent). We started the day at Adventure Sports in Warwick, bringing together the almost 100 team members (known as Cougar Cats) from our six offices across the UK. It was a packed day of activities — rally karts, 4×4 off road driving, clay pigeon shooting, crate building, archery, and a team challenge — all designed to give us a chance to meet and mix with our fellow Cougar Cats and practise our philosophy of equality, contribution to decision making and fun. Balancing act: Proving we put our team on a pedestal is Joanne (Support Team). We formed 12 teams of eight, mixing people from our different offices, who then rotated between the six activities. At days end, we headed to a local hotel for a much-need energy reviving gala dinner and awards ceremony, before “celebrating” a bit more into the wee hours. The result: a happy team, recharged to keep bringing you the service you deserve. Bullseye! Derek (Company Leader) is right on the mark. Poles apart: After having to build a structure from ropes and wooden poles, Cristena (Cheshire office) takes her turn at writing her name without touching the ground. Cheered on by Bogdan (Warks), Jon (SW), Duncan (Yorks), Clem (SW), Andy (Yorks), and David (Hants). Thumbs up: Mark (Director and Business Unit Leader, Yorks and Cheshire) is happy going off road.
