For a while now we’ve been pretty certain we have a great work culture here at Cougar, made up with more than 100 great people. So, we were excited when others agreed and we were presented with a ‘Best Workplaces’ award in the medium category (51 to 499 employees) at the Great Places to Work awards.

Considered the ‘gold standard’ of employer awards, UK’s Best Workplaces exists to celebrate organisations that deliver excellence in  people management and engagement. According to the Great Places to Work Institute, which hosted the event in London, “a great workplace is one built on trust. Trust drives sustainable engagement and engagement drives business performance.”

At Cougar, we were recognised for our attitude of “share everything, treat everyone the same and have flexibility to meet the different needs of individuals, trust everyone and involve everyone,” which underpins any policy or practice.

The awards are presented to organisations that have been independently assessed on the management and HR practices that create the organisation’s culture, and also assessed on trust, which measures how employees experience that culture.

You can read more about the hosting organisation, the awards, and our ranking in this supplement that appeared in the Guardian and Sunday Telegraph.
