PRESS RELEASE: VINCI Energies UK & ROI has bolstered its industrial automation and process control capabilities by acquiring Cougar Automation, one of the UK’s largest Control System Integrators.

14 November 2017, UK (VINCI ENERGIES UK & ROI) —  Cougar Automation Ltd employs 110 people across six UK offices and offers a suite of advanced engineering solutions in areas such as Control Systems Integration, Industrial Internet of Things (Industry 4.0), Functional Safety and Cyber Security for control systems. Its customers include major companies active in the water, oil & gas, manufacturing, food processing, waste recycling, energy, infrastructure and transportation industries.

The company is a well-established, reliable and sought-after supplier of advanced Automation and System Integration Services. As one of the largest independent Control System Integrators in the UK, the company has for more than 25 years provided a high-quality and personalised service to meet and exceed the expectations of a diverse range of clients.

The deal, which has just been finalised, adds to the growing number of businesses that contribute to VINCI Energies’ industrial engineering expertise. The Group, which was further strengthened earlier in the year with the acquisition of automation specialist QSI Group, advises companies on industrial processes and automation, industrial IT, engineering design, project management, installation, and smart maintenance.

“Cougar Automation is a great addition to the VINCI Energies group and will complement and strengthen our ability to partner with businesses on improving efficiency, optimising industrial and infrastructure processes, and integrating the latest smart industry technologies. Our unique decentralised and start-up like business model, and the backing of our global network, will enable us to build on our two companies’ impressive track record of success and develop new capabilities to support our customers.”           Rochdi Ziyat, CEO, VINCI Energies UK & RoI

“This is the start of an exciting new chapter for Cougar Automation and will help us continue offering the capacity and professionalism of a large contractor while delivering the high quality service, flexibility and responsiveness of a trusted local business. Our decentralised, regional service delivery fits perfectly the VINCI Energies business model and I am particularly looking forward to working with the other VINCI Energies Business Units to offer each other’s services to our customers. With the backing of VINCI Energies, our ability to help clients seize the new opportunities provided by the Internet of Things and protect against ever-present cyber security threats will be even greater.”     Derek Burton Business Unit General Manager, Cougar Automation
